Price drop on Trumpeters 1/32 Hellcats!

Post by KSaarni »

I guess Airfix new 1/24 Hellcat is causíng some dramatical price drops with Trumpeters 1/32 Grumman Hellcat kits (F6F-3 and F6F-5) quite in many webshops.

Therefore I used the opportunity and ordered yesterday Trumpeters 1/32 F6F-5 Hellcat ( 2257 ) for 27 euros, which I felt was a bargain.
Only to see today, that another web-shop is selling the same kit for 20,5 € :headslap:

Should have waited one day.. well, it's not the end of the world, but nevertheless I ordered one more, Trumpeters F6F-3N (2258) for those 20,5 euros. :-)

The both boxes will go pretty directly into my stash with an unknown build date.
My next build after my finished110 will be Revells P-51D Mustang, with quite much AM goodies + some scratch building as well.
More of that later in the autumn.

Sometimes it pays to wait a bit longer. Glad to hear you got one though. It’s really hard to predict how much of a price drop when the opportunity arises.

That's true, has also happened that when doubting too long and by the time a decision is made, it's sold out !!

If only I had the room for 1/32 aircraft.... A shark mouth Hellcat would be the way to go! Unfortunately I have to save the real estate I have for that size for bombers and bigger aircraft

I'm like you guys. I've got no room for anything that big whether it's in 32nd or 24th scale. Hell the BV-141 I'm going to be building is pushing the limits.

That is great you able to get two Hellcats! Basicly a two for the price of one deal. And in the two main versions, -3 and -5.
But I am curious as to how the 24th scale Airfix kit would affect the market for 32nd scale Hellcats :hmm: Is their a similar price drop on the 32nd scale Hasegawa Hellcats?

Thanks, yes I am quite happy!

And of course I cannot be 100% sure that there is a link. Most "evidence" is my own action, seeing myself probably as somehow an average modeller. I immediately jumped in and bought the Trumpeters and suddenly my "hunger" for Airifx 1/24 vanished. 1/32 is big, a lot of detailing possibilities etc.

But it is just my theory! :Beaver:

Hasegawas Hellcat, I cannot find any for sale in those few web-shops I have checked.. :hmm:
