Picking your brains, a paint match question.

Talk about anything modeling: kits, tools, paint, etc...

Duke Maddog wrote:My modeling mantra is as different as Stuart's and probably a bit more radical: based on what that former RAF pilot said; just paint it whatever looks the best for you. I never try to color match anything. If I find a color that is 'close enough', that's what I paint it. Just Do It. Think of how much progress you could have made on something during the whole time you've been looking at and comparing colors.

Okay, I'm heading back to my bench now.... :bag:
You and Stuart made a very good point which is what I ended up doing was going with my gut on what looked good to me, though I did get two different paints for the underside since I want to see how much blue is gonna poke through. After several days of staring at paint and I ended up coming to the same conclusion of how the colors looked I ordered them up and because of who reliably has them is going to take a week to travel across the country to get here.

What’s funny is normally I do not get that into the “colors,” usually I am like “well that is what it calls for!” This time the research alone on the subject I am working on sent me down the ol’ rabbit hole.

But BIG thanks to all who chimed in, I read all comments and took into account all you said. This is why this place rocks!

I don't know if this will help you but here's a chart of Swedish aircraft colors from WWII till 2006 http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorchart ... sweden.htm
