How to get your mojo back?

Heya Mike. Really good to see you back around. I went through this in aircraft builds. Not getting too complicated with a build helps when you're getting back into it. I have tendency to go overboard sometimes in terms of detail and getting things "right". Makes for an almost impossible outcome sometimes. As was mentioned a few posts before mine here, do something easy and in a subject that truly interests you. It doesn't have to be your best work but just concentrate on building something you can finish and then go from there.

I can't really add much. Everyone else has already said great ideas. I was in the same rut recently. I started building something that I loved and it sparked something because I've been building like crazy ever since. I've already passed the number of kits that I built in the last couple of years in the last 7-8 moths.

One other thing I will say is - spend some time on here, these guys are great for inspiration.

Find a museum with an airplane you also find as a kit, regardless of the scale.

Go and see it, study it, watch it, make some research / history of the subject. Get familiar with it...
Take pictures, many, just let the camera sing! Make a "bond" with the subject..

Then, go order / buy the kit ...

Start the build and keep in mind all the time the role model you saw / studied in a museum, watch the pics and try to replicate it!

Ive got one of my "dream" kits sitting waiting for me. a 72nd scale lancaster. Ive wanted to build one since i was a kid. Ironically i also have the Meng "eggplane" lancaster there too. Ill crack them out and give them a go.

I tried building a car. Ive got ayrton Sennas MP/4 there, i got through the engine and rear suspension and it kind of stalled. I would love to pick it up again, but once again, every time i look at it my brain files it in the too hard basket and i do something else.
I got a new airbrush, got super excited, painted my sisters bike helmet, havent used it since lol.

Man! You really went for broke building an Indy Car. Those things are intense. I think I'd have sensory overload if I tried one of those things.
