Hobby Boss 1/35 scale kits

Post by Stuart »

Still dipping my toe in the black lagoon of Armour building - I've noticed today that Hobby Boss make a lot of kits in 1/35 scale.

In fact I've been eyeing up this (a nice an simple starter build?)

Has anyone got any experience with HB Armour kits?

I haven't done any of their armor kits, but if they're like the aircraft they do, it'll be a nice kit.

Hobbyboss is the alter ego of Trumpeter. They both are owned by the same folks in China, and their kits are of identical quality. Although Hobbyboss being the newer arm of the company, for the most part, does not have the older stuff that Trumpeter does. So if you’ve built a Trumpeter kit, especially a newer one, Hobbyboss will be in the same league. I have several HB kits in my stash, but have not yet built any. I have however built a few Trumpeter kits and been happy with most of those.

Ahh yeah. Forgot about that. My Stryker is a Trumpeter kit and it was a great build.

Thanks Chaps - I might well check them out then, they do some really interesting looking modern armour (I'm off to look at Trumpeter as well now).

Just pass on their 1/35 T-54/T-55/Type 59/69 Tanks. When they came out, it was the only way to get one of those types of tanks into a collection, but now there are far better kits available. It’s not a horrid kit, but due to it being motorized, it has some overscale issues and the tracks....

Their LAVs, KVs, PT-76 families on the other hand... very sweet! Their M1s aren’t bad either.
