So my SCAT and SCAT II decals have arrived - however I know knowt about Lightnings.
Anyone recommend a good 1/72 P-38J kit?

Re: P-38J?
I know Academy has a decent one. However, as any P-38 kits goes, they are notorious tail sitters. Finding the space in the nose for weights is a challenge but doable.

The only 1/72 P-38s I remember building are the ancient Revell and Airfix offerings... and those were both in the 70’s, so I don’t remember anything good or bad about them, only that I built them.

I saw that on scalemates website on a search. Who knew Airfix did a P-38 Lightning?! I don't remember seeing that in my youth years.

Well, according to Scalemates, there are plenty of 1/72 P-38s out there.

Looking at all of them, I might suggest the Hobbyboss kit. Their 1/48 kit has good reviews for the engineering addressing the alignment issues of most P-38 kits.

If it was my coin, I would go for the versions by RS Models!
