No problem Bruce - I often feel like the FAA's (and the Royal Navy's) contribution to the war in the Pacific is overlooked. Granted their presence was small when compered to the USN and USMC, but they were there, and as always made the best of what they had. The FAA has always punched above it's weight and come out on top - Just look at the Falklands.
However - back to the point of the thread, As much as I love USN birds (and I do), from a modelling interest point of view the FAA (and the French) does give you the option of doing some well known aircraft (Wildcat, Hellcat, Avenger, Corsair etc.) in some different schemes. The FAA Wildcats were even used in the North African Campaign in desert camo.
As an aside - Did you know the USN flew Hellcats over France in 1944 in support of operation Dragoon?
