as for baiting,,,,,,you are trying to goad me into posting pictures of models that you know don't "meet Jimmy's standards" of weathering and detail highlighting,,,,,,,,,so that you can proudly proclaim to "be better" As I already said, I learned my lesson on that one.
People see my models in person now, not as I paint each brush stroke and take a photo to "prove" that I've been building since 1965.

And I don't know what you mean about about anything between you and me on that Z-M Phantom thread,,,,,if I posted on it, it would have had to do with Phantom parts,,,,unless it happened after you got Prof Death banned for going at Jennings. (that was the catalyst for my "I'm leaving thread", the fact that you went after him for not building, and you didn't even know that there are about 100,000 models out there with his decal art on them)
I do know that people were doing the usual "it's not really a kit" deal with Z-M's model announcement,,,,,,before all the pics were up for that show display,,,,,,but, I don't remember you being one of them. If you mean my "nit picking" by hoping that Z-M gets certain areas right, vs what Academy did (and there is a list of correction parts available for that Academy's faults) I stand by that. Wanting better kits as the years go by is why we aren't all building the 1/72 Airfix kit for our Phantoms anymore,,,,,there are now 3 "top kits" in 1/72 scale instead of just the 4 "bottom tier kits"
Now that you have told me that it is personal, we might be able to talk it out. You were blocked on ARC because you kept saying it wasn't personal, while weaving my own sentences into your posts. So, I had no idea if it was Hate, Hurt or Disappointment, because there were two different messages from you in your posts.

I am the kind of guy that believes that if someone says that they do something, then they really do it.
Jennings and I have been disagreeing for over a decade about using one part of Michelangelo's Distant Cow for models,,,,,,but, ignoring or reversing the other two parts. If it is the principle that makes models look realistic, then they should look like that cow,,,,,not just 1 of the 3 items.
He also knows that I will tell people that they can scale effect the paint color all they want,,,,,,but, when it comes to areas that have decals, if the paint needs to match that decal, it is going to be 595C. And it is not going to be scale effected.
It is not a matter of my preference,,,,it is the simple mechanics of the thing. No matter what standard the real thing was painted in,,,,,,decal printers use 1/1 595C, because that is how the inks are produced. So, to actually use scale effect, and get the whole model,,,,,,,someone has to step up and produce and publish a method for scale effecting a model AFTER the model is painted and decalled. Otherwise we are just popping 1/1 decal colors onto our scale effected paint jobs and calling it "looking accurate"
I would have typed it all out that way,,,,,,,,but, since I was talking to Jennings, he knows all of my shortcuts from as far back as the Steel Navy website days,,,,,,,,and sometimes people PM me to tell me to not take up so much bandwidth with my explanations of this technical stuff.

This thread was funny for the first pics posted. Pure fun and a good laugh. I almost ordered this set for the Butt-Hurt creme...
But now, after three pages, my butt hurts! Guys, you know I have the outmost respect for you, each of you. I also respect each other´s opinion. But couldn´t you simply talk by PM and behind the scenes instead (again) making this place another battlefield? I guess no one here feels comfortable reading what has written until now.
I see that feelings have been hurt. But this here leads to a direction nobody want to see this place to go. I therefore lock this topic.
