Man I'd forgotten we used to have reviews and stuff - good times. I just re-read Fermis's dual Italeri Cessna 172 build thread.LyleW wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2026 5:24 am There are three builds I know of on SPAM for that kit. One was a freebie when we could get samples, Handiabled built it, I think. Great job.
The other was one I built, not so great.
Cherry lock did one, too.
Can’t find the first rwo.
Tom, is that the kit I sent you? Build I’d young man.

I believe I was the one who built the 1/48 scale Stearman for the review. I opted for the cream and red version. It's on here somewhere. This is what it looked like:

That looks great!
I hadn't seen that boxing. I'm thinking of doing the blue and yellow Army version.
Thanks,

Re: Latest Acquisitions - pt.3
So they opened a Hobby Town real close to my house today. Had no idea it was coming so I had to check it out. The good news is they have a TON of Gundam in every grade. The bad news is that's as far as the models go. No paints, tools, or supplies either. I'm ok with that because I have another LHS that has everything that this store doesn't have. I did pick up a Gundam that I've had on my list for a long time. Also picked up a Transformer kit that I've never seen before. Amazon also delivered a book I had ordered to help with some of my armor builds.

My Hobby Town also has tons of Gundam kits too as well as auto kits and a few aircrafts (mostly Tamiya, Revell and Lindberg repops) , armor (Tamiya only) , and ships kits (Tamiya 1/700 scale). Gundam sand auto kits seems to be more plentiful than armor, aircraft, and ship kits. They also have a lot of RC stuff. The only paint line my HT carried are Tamiya (both acrylics and lacquer) a few Vallejo, and Army Painter brand acrylics. They also have tools and supplies as well. Lots of WarHammer figures too.
Give it time, I’m sure they will get more stuff in. I didn’t get the opportunity to check out my Hobby Town til 3 months after I first heard it opened up in Clinton.
Compare prices on kits to other online stores/other LHS in your area you frequent to. I know their auto kits are priced higher than Scalehobbyist store. HT prices on auto kits are comparable to Hobby Lobby prices except when HL has their 40% off sale on their kits every other week.
Also, be aware that Hobby Town rarely has great sales on model kits, tools and supplies.
