I've got the old Tamiya kit - heard it's problematic but does come in two different Falklands war markings.

The Tamiya Sea Harrier? It actually has late 70’s pre Falklands markings. They were quite low viz toned down for the war with no actual squadron markings.

Correct. They were repainted during the voyage south into overall Dark Sea Grey, and the white removed from the roundels & fin flash.

The batch of reinforcement Sea Harriers were painted in a medium grey overall and had different roundels in lighter colors. Both schemes can be seen here.
