Want to build a 1/48 Curtiss SB2C some day

Post by Proud Marine Dad »

Always wanted to build an SB2C Helldiver because my dad was crew chief on them at El Toro Marine Corps base back in 1945 or 1946 I believe. Used to have a Monogram kit but it got thrown out a long time ago. I don't think there is a good fitting kit out there as the plane is a little obscure to most I would think.
Would have loved to build one when dad was still with us but the Lord took him home in 2001.

The ProModeler kit is a great kit. Good luck in finding one

Yes, there was originally the Pro Modeler release of the Helldiver. Accurate Miniatures got ahold of the molds and did an early variant as well. Then Revell re issued the original kit not too long before they folded a few years back. There should be some of those kits floating around here or there…

I've got two of the ProModeler kits on hand and ton of AM for them. I just need to get around to building them.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.
