Build something simple and ez for fun that you wont mind if it gets damaged or even give it away to a niece/nephew/grandchild/veteran/etc... Pick up an old Airfix Spitfire or similar and brush paint it. Just relax and have fun. Who knows, you might get your mojo backProud Marine Dad wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:21 pm Been toying around with the thought a little but it's real hard finding any time anymore as I started working at my old job again 3 years ago on 2nd shift.
Don't get up until 10am and just don't have the drive that I once had. Sold all but a couple of kits years ago and all my paints may or may not be still usable. We shall see.
Hate to build anymore before moving in 4 years as packing the few that I built years ago is going to be fun to move 2,500 miles away without breaking too many small parts.![]()
To build again or not?

What parts are missing?

Nothing major Carlos.
Can't find both control sticks for the cockpit but I could always just build it with the canopy closed. I did detail it a little and normally leave them open, but I guess I could close it. Don't really want to scratch build parts.
After building Tamiya P-47s the molding on this thing is not good.

You could probably find the parts you need either as AM, or on eBay. There are folks on eBay who sell sprue trees from different kits.

Would cost me close to $20 with shipping so I'll see.Stikpusher wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 3:05 pm You could probably find the parts you need either as AM, or on eBay. There are folks on eBay who sell sprue trees from different kits.
I could buy another entire kit almost for that much money.
May just make some from stretched sprue or something.

Hold on... I might have something for you. Will this work for you?

You could get away with using this as your second joystick. Nip off a piece and viola! A joystick for the rear seat of cockpit. May not look perfect or the part but at least it's something.

PM me your address and I'll get it out to you.

Thanks for the offer Black Sheep but I think I will try and make some up or just build the old Monogram SBD kit I have with horrible raised panel lines and rivets.

I have some small diameter brass rod that I could probably bend into the shape of the stick base and then make some kind of semblance of a trigger.

Re: To build again or not?
Think I will use the control sticks on an old F-105 Monogram Thunderchief kit I have that I will probably never build.
They are a little too tall but I will just cut them down.
