Crete Stukas? STG.2

My dad is giving me his stuka to paint, (I think its the airfix 48 scale b-2) He wants me to paint it as an aircraft representing one in crete. The marking options hes got are T6+KN (Red outline on the K) and T6+NM (White N). Hes tried doing some research on colours, and ive tried, but were both getting very very confused as the paint seems to be different in every photo we find.
Does anyone know what paint the stukas sported in crete? Or a scheme that wouldnt look wrong in that area?

You likely will not go wrong with a 70/71/65 scheme. But depending upon what exact time period you are looking to represent, you could see some tropical colors such as RLM 78, 79 or 80 added as well. Either filed aplied over the the 70/71/65 factory scheme or applied at a depot or the factory for use in that theater.

As to the Battle of Crete/Operation Mercury and I./StG2 as well as III./StG2, the standard splinter pattern of RLM70/71/65 would be the way to go. Both groups being then assigned to the Eastern/Balkan TO. II./StG2 was already deployed to North Africa but didn't see any action over Crete.

IIRC, some of the StG1 Stukas (based in Sicily) were already sporting a RLM79/78 livery.

Thanks airfixer. Ill go with the 2 tone green splinter then. Now to go buy some paint.
