https://i.postimg.cc/Vk19vQvC/IMG-9773.jpg Mostar… been there many times on patrols. A beautiful ancient town. I wonder if the Luftwaffe airfield was at the same location where the modern airfield is today. If so, I know it pretty well. :hmm: https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-Xv_KwaF7H4Qt_U2D...

Re: The Children of Doom

Thanks guys! Great progress! I went back through to see more detail about the actual aircraft and I’m excited to see the early insignia type in use! Thanks also for taking the time to include the battle damaged photos. Often this fine level of research into the life of the aircraft is totally missin...

Looks like they repainted the wheel wells, gear struts, and inner face of the gear doors in the underside color. It is an exact match for the surrounding external surface…. :hmm:

Re: The Children of Doom

Here is my latest bits of progress on this one… First I airbrushed on white primer where the white ETO ID markings will be applied on the tail and cowling. The next day I airbrushed on Tamiya Gloss white to those areas https://i.postimg.cc/cCnWkpc5/IMG-1579.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/qq3rDPG5/IMG-1580...

Bruce and Mike, thank you!

Bruce, I honestly can’t say what the bucket is specifically used for, but knowing GI’s, they would be used for anything involving water…

Re: Airfix 1/144 Boeing Dixie Clipper

My father had a deep affection for the Pan Am Clippers… in spite of him being a life long TWA man… I definitely want to see this project built!

John, Tom, Lyle, and Gary, thank you one and all for your kind words! It was a simple project and a great one to try a few bits of experimentation upon. The end results speak for themselves methinks… :hmm:

Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz.70 Krupp Protze

So I finally wrapped this one up a short while ago, and it is my 6th completion for this year. I’m almost on track for an average of one a month at this rate! This is the Tamiya classic Krupp Protze, with only minimal changes made. I did add the missing steering linkage, and of course added stowage ...

Re: Messerschmitt bf109 G10

https://i.postimg.cc/gkBgMx73/IMG-9598.jpg Interesting photo here that you found Bruce! This appears to be a 109G-5, which had a pressurized cockpit and is identified by the lack of a small vent in front of the windscreen on the left side. (I forget off the top of my head which R-_ armament sub var...
