Often times on or near Christmas, I will find myself working on a 109E or Fw190. I got both the Monogram 109E and Fw190 kits under the tree when I was young and they always bring back fond memories. This is the Tamiya 109E that has been on the shelf for a few years.

My favorites were a Chemistry set and my Crossman 766 pellet rifle.
My mom seemed to make Easter about models.

So many Christmas over the years as a kid...

My favorite Christmas model memory was, I think 1984 maybe 1985. I had shown my dad the new Fujimi F-4 Phantom kit in a catalog during the year. Christmas morning I had every boxing of the Fujimi kit under the tree. 7 of em. Back then I think they were the unheard of price of $15 dollars each.

Erector sets, a chemistry set or two, a Cox .049 control line plane- probably a Daisy BB rifle such good times.

Very timely post, Chris! This Christmas, I find myself building my first 109 model since I was a kid. I've got this one underway right now:

Yeah, my strongest Christmas modeling memory association would be about the big Monogram aircraft kits. Each year in the mid 70’s when those kits started coming out I would get one at Christmas… the B-17, B-24, B-52, B-25, B-26 and C-47 all stand out in those memories…

I do remember my sister getting that large scale Corvette model kit one Chritmas morning.

Another memory is getting those Aurora Prehistoric dinosaur snap kits. I still have the Saber-tooth Tiger kit minus the stand.... unpainted!
