I've been planning on migrating my website to a new host for awhile because the present one can't provide an https: type secure address, but yesterday there was a fire near the location of the servers and it caused PG&E to shut down power in the area. Backup power couldn't handle it so everything on the servers was lost. I have everything of mine backed up on my own computer, twice, actually, so there is no loss that way but in the meantime the photos I have put up here will be down. Wish me luck, I have to change a lot of addressing, but not all. It depends on how long ago I wrote the pages on my website.

Oh, wow…that sucks. Bad design. At the server farm that it did not have enough b/u power it would .seem.

Ouch! Sounds like a big time consuming PITA to post all the replacement images… I bet the server is gonna lose some customers over this.

Thats a shame but if you were planning to move anyhow... And good on you for having backups. So many people don't think about it.

It's a company I've been with for maybe 30 years, and their business has changed to more providing network services in rural areas, less providing web hosting. I knew the day was coming that I would have to move the website, and I've been doing relative addressing for a long time, as well having my own domain name so hopefully it won't be as painful as it might have been.

I've started migrating my website, and taking the opportunity to clean it up some. Near as I can tell I started building it in 1999, first to support my R/C plans sales. Since I didn't know anything about html to begin with, and also the web editors of those days just seemed to love adding extra code, many of the files are a mess even though they display OK. I use Blue Griffon and Brackets to make and edit the pages. Over the years I have gotten familiar with css and the current html environment, which is an ever changing landscape. I don't do a lot of fancy stuff, keeping up my modeling pages is not too taxing. It's just that there's probably more than 800 pages by now.

Getting the photos uploaded shouldn't take too long and that will support what I have previously posted on forums, depending on the address I used for posting. Most of the last 2 or 3 years should be fine.

Sounds like you are are going to be a bit busy for the next little while...

It has been a bit busy, but I'm making good progress and having fun visiting old friends from the bench and other places. Here's a reference section that some people have found useful. Maybe some of you can look through and let me know if you find broken things. I'm well into the model pages now, about 50 models but that's probably around 500 pages on models alone so far, probably more. Code I wrote 20 years ago is a pain in the tusch to clean up.

Here's the root address but there are of course many pages that will generate a 404 error. All of the files relating to my R/C kits should be working, and the Propplanes link which is the reference section I was talking about. My Armor section is up as well, mostly trucks but there are two tanks types, one the M74 retriever.

Just finished up the B-36 section this afternoon, now it's on to the B-47. Any airplane type with an alphabetical type name up to that should be good, but you can't go in the order the pictures are posted in. The Tabular listing link at the top of the Model page will give a better result as it is aphabetical, sort of.

Also, there is a page not linked to on the index pages, on my garage project which is operation, though the heat pump won't get here until tomorrow and there is some interior trim around doors and windows still to do.
