Has anyone heard news about this? Especially the early D-5 with no fillet and the F-6.
I like the Airfix kit but it's only for late model D
After seeing Eduards Fw190 in 72nd

Would really like a Mustang

Well, that does not sound outside the realm of possibilities. They have come out with several kits in both scales, often in 1/48 first, then later in 1/72. All I can suggest is to wait and see. And perhaps fire off an email to them requesting such...

True, the only strange one in Eduards kits is the Me 109, still no 1:72 but they are pumping out one after the others more 109's in 1:48
Wonder which market is bigger, 1:72 or 1:48 ?

I hope so!!!
Having done kits from Heller (not too bad), Academy (D is crappy...B/C was decent enough), Tamiya and Airfix.
I do prefer the Airfix over the Tamiya....I've done 6 of em! (Airfix) with another in the stash.
If Eduard did it, and kept in the $15-20 range and "overtree's in the $10-12 range...I'd buy a few!

I do like the Airfix kit with the exception of the dorsal antenna. Who is the friggin genius who decided to put the sprue attachment in the middle. I've broke 4 of the 6 I've built

I hope they do, I would buy a good P-51 in that scale.

I rarely use kit antennas. They always seem to be too thick.
I just cut em from sheet. I cut em long(easier to handle)...scrape the edges to round off the front and taper the rear, then cut to proper length.
The only issue I've had with the Airfix kit...all but 1 of em had a bent main gear (I've done 6 and have another stashed...which also has a bent gear). Easy 'nuff to bend back straight though.

I prefer shaped sheet brass for antenna masts. Or music wire fleshed out with super glue. Fits my ham fisted handling!

What is the best current 1/72 scale P-51 "out there" ?
I took a brief look what my LHS is currently selling in scale 1/72 and these are:
- Academy
- Airfix
- Hasegawa
- Hobby Boss
- Heller
- Italeri
- Mister Craft
- Revell
- Tamiya
- Trumpeter
