Anyone have an idea on green color for the Green Nose Mustangs of the 359thFG. Would like to use Tamiya paints if possible. I'm ok with mixing

Got a picture! I’d go with a nice plaid!

What did the instruction guide designate as the green? I’ll look around and see. So far it appears to be a different brighter shade of green. Definitely not Olive Drab.
I have the same problem in trying to pin down he correct shade of blue for the Blue-nosed Bastards of Bodney Mustangs.

This what I was able to find. Using Eduard Dual Combo Mustang instruction guide as a possible color reference and since they use Gunze Aqueous colors assignments, it appears it could be C135 Russian Green. There is no match for Tamiya to match Russian Green.

i realize that Wikipedia isn't always the best source....this pic is on the page for the 359th Fighter Group. I'd call it an Olive Drab color?

The one in the foreground looks to be interior green or possibly OD. The rest of them look more like British racing green or some similar color.
I’d say look at the little Testors square bottles of enamels for something that is “close enough”.

Olive drab is the top color on the cowl. Too light to be olive drab. colors to consider are Field Drab/Field green, Khaki. It's really hard to pin down the exact color or FS code on the green. I guess you could experiment with different shades of a lighter brighter green and decide what works for you. If you have Testors Model Master Russian Armor Green #4807, that might work.

Olive Drab 41, to be most likely. A darker shade, used for almost the entire war by the USAAF. They were not keen on the new ANA 319 shade, which was lighter. Field Drab is a brown color, with a touch of green, equivalent to RAF Dark Earth. Field Green was not around at that time, however Forest Green was. Which may be the color on the closest aircraft.
If you want to stick with Tamiya Colors, I would say look at Deep Green or perhaps one of the IJA/IJN Greens.

Does this help? If you have these greens (XF 73/74), I would do a mix of olive drab plus green, lighten it with some yellow too.
