Replacement struts

Hello everybody.
Need some help on sourcing building supplies.
Started an Eduard 1/48 Abatros D.V and found that the wing struts are so mis-molded that I can't use or correct them. Looking for streamlined struts similar to the old Strutz or Aeroclub (Contrail) items.
Is there anything out there?
Thanks for the help and will post pics of the finished build
Alby

Hi there! Welcome to the forum.

Did you have any pictures?

Will post some pics when the camera gets recharged.
Problem is that the molds for the struts seem to be mis-aligned leaving the sides offset a little bit. Too much for me to sand down so am looking for replacement strut material and will just make new ones. Could always shave down plastic strip but seems a bother if ready made struts are still out there somewhere.
Thanks

Welcome to SPAM Albatross!

Have you tried contacting Eduard for replacement struts?

Haven't contacted them as of yet - still trying to find a work-around. Wouldn't mind making my own if I can find the right shaped strut material.

You could get some Evergreen strip styrene of an appropriate size and sand it to a proper shape.

Hi Alby,

welcome to SPAM! :bye:

What length / width do you need? I have some airfoil shaped plastic stock here; shouldn´t be too expensive to ship some to ?

Welcome Albatross! I haven't anything that would work but Thomas sounds as if he's got what you're looking for.

Alby hasn´t replied to my offer so far, so I guess he has found what he needs.
