I have a problem....

Post by AtomCat109 »

Hello, my name is Atomcat109. I am a 109 addict, I have a problem...

I already have two 1/48 Eduard 109E-3 kits, just ordered two more but the E-4, have another four ordered (one E-3 and three E-4) elsewhere but with the ICM He-111 kit a part of the order, an A/B model in transit across the Atlantic.

I swear they are mating in the warehouse!

I worry that when the He-111 arrives I will love it too and want to order another one of those, and now I find myself itching at the Eduard 109 F and G models as well. I don’t know how you guys restrain thyself from the styrene itch.

lol! Oh dear - before long you're going to have a mega-stash and you'll be hiding things in the post...

I did have a stash that got up to about 70 kits at one point. I sold 90% of it off last year and feel a bit better for it. I try to limit myself to around 10 but to b honest for me even that's too high. I'd like to get to a :quotes: buy one build one :quotes: routine.

Mine is around 200-ish more likely just under. I have pretty much stopped buying for now. I will be 279 years old by the time they are all built.

Well I guess I don’t feel too bad.... For now! Lol.

BTW, @Mostrich if I become addicted to the 1/48 ICM He-111 kit I am already saying now it is your fault. Here I was minding my own business posting in the “latest acquisition” thread and you had to post you that got your hands on that kit...

They are like rabbits!! How the hell do you have room to store them all, let alone once they are built?!?!?

The variety though is very very impressive!

I'm no longer going to worry about the size of my stash...

Blooming 'eck Carlos - that's massive. Mind you, you have some very nice kits in there.

You're most welcome!
I can't recommend having a big stash, but on the other hand there's nothing too bad about it. Like Portman I sold a lot of kits last year. Also for simply reducing the stash, but also to get rid of many short run kits, old toolings or kits that were replaced by a better one in the past years. As long as my stash consists of high quality kits, I'm prone to my own written tale that I'm able to build all of them. But seriously: A good designed kit can halve the time you need to finish it.
The kits you've mentioned that are on their way to your house all fit (besides the early 109 maybe) high standards. So nothing to regret so far.
BTW: Here's mine...
Cheers,
Torben
