My subscription from FSM had run out, and I didnt renew in an attempt to save a bit of cash. But now Im going into withdraws about not getting a mag every month!
Ive picked up Scale Model Addict, Scale Aircraft Modeling, and Model Aircraft International....
I really like the scale diagrams and the profiles when they are included, and reading about those big modify builds, or those with a lot of scratch-building
all three have their pros/cons, but which mag do you prefer and why?

My favourite English modelling magazine would be SAM. But the French Wingmaster is my all time favourite ever since Replic stopped publishing. And in German Modelfan is quite nice. In Dutch we only have Modelbouw magazine so there is not a lot of choice here.

Really - Can you get that on the eastern front? I thought it would be Fräulein Monthly or something?
I tend to read Airfix Model World these days, partly because I know quite a few of the contributors and it's nice to see them in print, and partly becuase it has a nice mix of genres, rather than just being aircraft specific.
SAMI is also good - mainly due to their classic plastic section.

I largely stopped subscribing/buying scale modelling magazines, except for the for the French Wingmasters series. Until 2011, I've been a regular subscriber of the French Replic magazine for many years. So sad it's gone...

I have a running subscription to Tamiya Model Magazine since years. Not the printed issues but the digital ones to read them on my Apple devices.
On iPad and iPhone I have most modelling mags Apps. I get notifications on new issues and a preview, so I decide from time to time if I buy one of those other mags. I only don't spend a hard earned Cent on a magazine that features a certain modellers builds, but this is a more personal preference...
I had German ModeffDan for decades but I more and more felt it bored me. I had to pay for lots of stuff I am not interested in with only a few pages I would like to read. Never missed it since then, same with FSM...

Scale Aircraft Modelling - It's a great mix of aviation goodness. It also doesn't hurt that their editor is a transplanted Canadian!
Solid "quick reviews", several more in-depth builds, monthly feature on a specific aircraft with plans, pics, history etc. They review European kits & subjects much more frequently than FSM. FSM was easily accessible to be when I first got back in, but I found it has been lacking the past 3, 4 years, and the non-aviation subjects generally turn into wasted content for me.

Vance, just in case...
Jay's no longer editor of SAM (Guideline Publications' SAM). He was "released from his duties" in December
Neil Robinson provisionally taking over Jay's part. Turning back the clock in a way...

Replic was a great magazine. If a plane was featured in Replic there was no real need to buy a monograph because of all the refernce photos in their articles.
