Hi Kenny, hope you, your kids, doggie and your wonderful wife are all doing well, it's good to see you back on the boards again - long may it continue! Really interested to hear you've ditched FB, I thought you were pretty wedded to that platform. I don't blame you though, I've been thinking of doing the same.

Really liking this Panzer, and having just read through the whole thread I think you're doing a superb job on it. From the start, I think it's a really good idea to just try push through and get a build finished. I know in some ways the building and painting are the main point of the hobby, not the final model sitting on a shelf collecting dust, but nothing saps the modelling soul like a pile of half finished projects sitting in boxes - It's really really good to just get some done, keep 'em by your desk and think - Man I built that. Nothing wrong with focusing on Armour either - I appreciated your comment on my K2/Y thread about me being able to build all sorts, but I've been feeling increasingly burnt out with aircraft recently. I keep starting them but loose interest really quickly - so I'm kind a focusing on Armour too. It's all new to me and a lot of fun.

As to your build. Construction looks spot on (I like the challenge of working out the build sequence for these Armour projects - what to build and add when). Painting looks aces - I admit I know knowt about German Armour, but your homebrew looks good to me. Modulation looks awesome. I'm not massively sold on Black-Basing anyway. It works for some, and for some projects, but I don't think it's the be all and end all. It's just another tool like any other technique - if you've found away that works for you, then go for it. Those decals went down very nicely so your method obviously works (i might have to get some of that Mig solution - would you mind posting a photo of what you use) and your washes, drybrushing and pigment work all look excellent - that really does look like a beaten up desert beast. I was really interested to see how well the washes worked when you didn't add a clear coat.

I get the desert vibe too - I've a few North African British subjects that I want to get on the bench.

Anyway, enough rambling from me, better get back to work!

You’re right you know- it’s good to get one off the bench and onto the shelf. And to add what Carlos said- “Not get wrapped around the axle about little things.” That was the biggest issue I always had in terms of “not getting it from the bench to the shelf.”

It feels good to see something though to completion and it feels good to have a plan going into it and to execute that plan.

I also like that you’re on an armor adventure. I think you’ve got a lot of talent that you can bring to armor subjects, and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future!
