I’ll have to look in MCW paints for the red I want to use.
I used MCW Cranberry Red on my '70 Z/28 Camaro a couple of years back and still have some of that I may use for the second car that I'm building along side of this one Tom.

Here's what Cranberry Red looks like on my Z

That's a nice shade of red, Joe.

Speaking of problems with this kit.....

The shocks .....OMG the SHOCKS!! I spent a good amount of time cleaning up the white ones you see to the left. They looked identical to the chrome ones on the right with all of the distortions, injector pin mark and mold lines.

Here's after re-defining the shocks after a LOT of clean up and then re-chroming them.

And then I did a quick mockup before I forgot to and I'm glad I did. If I left this whole thing how it was as it came from the box, the rear wheel openings would have been resting on the rear tires. Not good. So.....I'm going to have to raise the body off of the frame a little bit to get the ride height that I'm after and then re-locate the bumper mounts to put the rear bumper where it's supposed to be in relation to the body.

This is the ride height/ look that I'm after. BTW.......the aluminum wheels from Dancing Bear are now on the way to me. :dancing:

I ever understood why the shocks were on the chrome trees. I’d rather paint them.

That really does look cool! Great work on those shocks.

How do you go about altering the height of the body?

Well, Joe, you certainly have done an extraordinary job of cleaning up those shocks. How did you rechrome them?

I've seen some good ones in the better kits that were on the chrome trees and looked great. This.......is not one of the better kits. :headslap:

Thanks Stuart! My suspension mods are usually kind of mild so I can get by with re-arching springs or changing the position of the spindle on the front steering knuckle lots of times. This one here I re-arched the rear springs.

Thanks Bruce. I indeed used the AK Super Chrome over a gloss black finish on the front shocks.
