Again, with so much attentive detail so far to see these legs in this color is difficult, to a degree. I’ve always considered German aircraft colors to be all done in shades of grey to an extent.

I find different paint brands pull out different shades of same RLM color to another brand. Be it Testors Model Master, Mission Models, AK Interactive, etc... I often go with my gut on which looks closer accuracy-wise and what looks better in your eyes.

A little weathering can tone down the color using panel liner - black or brown.

Dear all..since I had to correct the color of the landing gears...I looked for a look-a-like...and guess what ....(either Lucky or dumass memory)....I found it...

RLM02....So enjoy the correction..

We’ve all been there with forgetting bottles since there are so many options. I personally use Mr Color for 02, but Vallejo Model Air is good (my experience being their WWII US color sets) I have a preference for the smoothness and layering qualities of Mr Color. Your new color appears better. I’m sure you’ll remove the hair that is on the left side piece.

I pulled the still frames to a G-14 walkaround, not for the paint scheme but for the detailing of the gear strut assemblies. I don’t think every hose would be painted green as you have done if these are rubber and metal tubing with clamps (see images). The strut would be painted first than the cabling would be attached. Plus, this G-14 does have the holes inside the wheel wells for canvas covers; I’ve read that these covers were not practical in the field but the aircraft in every series had them.

I stripped the paint and repaint them both of course the hoses will metal and rubber where they should be...for the canvas...well ..thank you for the extra work...

One aspect on the interior colors for the 109. By the time G-10 series went into production, German aircraft production was well dispersed to sub contractors due to the allied bombing campaigns. The sub contractions would usually paint their components at their location, and send them to the next location for final assembly, where they were not repainted into a single shade. So the gear doors could conceivably be in RLM 76 on both sides, the gear struts in RLM 66 or 02, and the wheel wells in BMF, RLM 02, or RLM 76 depending upon the paint situation at the manufacturing location. Late production aircraft captured in the last few months of the war often show this sort of patchwork look. The emphasis was on getting the aircraft built and into service as quickly as possible, not on making everything look uniform and parade ground ready.

I really hesitated to make a comment at first due to the high level qualities of your craftsmanship but certain things did jump out at this late stage of your build that I thought if I didn’t mention (and I must admit Carlos saw and commented first) on the landing gear strut assembly that led to further inquiries.

One of things that kept me here on this forum was learning from the other modelers here and if this helps you in some small way to better understand the prototype than my aim has been successful.

I’m glad you remain open and flexible as you seek a higher standard of building.
