Are you referring to Dull Coat and Gloss Coat from Testors? I believe those are lacquer based.

Yes sir. Nope, both are enamels. Got them at Hobby Lobby.

Well, I see they've dropped the word "lacquer" from their label. I wonder when
that changed? I quit using that stuff 30 years ago, I guess. The
only thing I have left from those days is one bottle that says Glosscoat Lacquer on the label. Directions on back have this in bold:
Clean brushes with Testors Lacquer Brush cleaner ONLY. Hmmm...
