That’s one thing that irks me, is about abbreviations and acronyms. This typing/texting shorthand that has taken over the written language. Our hobby sites are full of plenty of questionable ones. MMP can be Mission Models Paints, Model Master Paints, or the MMP distributor used by Squadron. IPA- Isopropyl Alcohol or India Pale Ale. How hard is it to spell out a word that is not Deoxyribonucleic Acid or some other tongue twister like Panzerkampfwagen Ausfuhrung or Sonderkraftfahrzeug? Some words need abbreviations or acronyms. Most don’t...

Here's the result after leaving it alone for a day...

umm, "MRP" is the newest label on the brand formerly called "Mr Paint"

They rebranded and changed the labels on the bottles.

I have "Mr Paint" on my shelves, because I bought it a while back,,,,,,,,,,but, now they just say "MRP" on them when/if I go to buy more.

(I think the "Mr" people had a problem with their name,,,,,,or they rebranded to avoid that possible problem,,,,I am not sure)

MMD... MMP... See, all these abbreviations and acronyms are confusing! But thanks for the heads up on Mr Paint/MRP. That is a new brand to me. If I had heard of Mr Paint before, I probably associated it with Gunze and their Mr (anything and everything) Hobby products. I looked up MRP paints last night and had two fine bits of good news. One, they make the Dull Dark Green and Bronze Green US interior colors- awesome!!!! Two, a local shop, Military Hobbies, actually carries the paints, the only US shop retailer listed on the MRP website. How great is that?

Ok, new question for you Rex, as you apparently already use the brand, what acrylic thinners work with this paint? Do you have to use only their thinner, as with many acrylic brands, or will something like, Tamiya or Testors Universal Acrylic Thinner work?

Fully agree Stik... But to quote a great comic...

I used the Mr Paint thinner in my initial tests.

I haven't experimented with the MRP paints yet, but, since they are Acrylic Lacquers, I am inclined to believe that Gunze Lacquer thinners would work with it. Or even "normal" lacquer thinners from the home improvement stores,,,,,,this paint is so noxious smelling that I can't even use it in the house.

I am only going to use it for one more full model build, just to get those colors into the built model collection, then I am going to just send them off to someone. I will only keep the Bronze Green, since I didn't find a water based Acrylic paint match yet.

Thanks for that assessment. Sounds similar to the Gunze line. I’ll have to swing by Military Hobbies here in Orange and see what they have in stock. They may have other useful colors to me in their line. I saw a few that looked tempting. But the Dull Dark Green and Bronze Green are must have top of the list!
