I have a King Tiger and athe new Rye Field Models Panther, both with full interior! These will be some seriously long-term projects...

They would be great to see Thomas! I quite fancy making a Tiger at some point. It would be interesting to see just how big they are compared to other tanks of the period - one of the advantages of model making is that you can do that.
Just so you know, we're having a Military Vehicles GB and you'd be more than welcome anytime.

And that goes to the “question of scale” thread. Seeing it all in a constant scale is great to help one visualize that in real life.
A WWII Tiger tank is pretty close in size to many early MBTs. The King Tiger more comparable to later MBTs in both size and weight.
And sitting next to me at eye level as I type this reply is a shelf full of my WWII German armor builds, with a Tiger sitting next to a Panzer IV. The Tiger looks a third to half again as big.

That right there is an example of why I love collecting models and building in constant scales. The Tiger was indeed a beast!

The French have one in Saumur. Not sure if the one in Munster, Germany, is running. Another one is being restored in Switzerland!

On the Tamiya Model Magazine Facebook page someone has posted a video of the King Tiger -
