Some non-cockpit stuff to show off today!

First up...the nose strut. Comprised of probably 8-10 pieces, including a metal core that extends all the way from the bay mounts to the wheel axles. All of the load bearing is in the metal - the plastic is literally just cladding. Smart design, though the tow/launch bar hinge assembly was a bit fussy.



Next up, the intakes. Beautiful in their simplicity. Two halves, with the seams placed in locations where you can actually get at them with sandpaper. The outer "skin" of the intake is another part that comes down on top, simplifying painting and masking of the white intake trunking. Oh...and the fit is glorious and it looks like these could be installed very near the end of the build.





The cockpit (excluding the seats) should be done soon. Need to work on the coaming a bit before I can really call it done. After that, progress should really pick up.

No it's not!!! I do have the Revell one in my stash though.

Game of Thrones stole some bench time last night, and most of what there was consisted of attacking the intake seams.

BUT I did do a test-fit of that most dreaded part of jet builds - the nose. With minimal cleanup so far, I'm happy to report the nose fit is excellent. A few more swipes of the sanding stick in the appropriate places and it'll be even better.
