I’ll tell you this about the F-35. The basic gray scheme that they are currently wearing is highly effective. After watching them fly overhead almost every weekday for better than two years now, unless they are silhouetted against a white cloud or back lit by the sun, the current gray scheme works quite well in most weather conditions blending in with the sky. Throw in a little haze and they have to be almost on top of you before you see them.

I have a feeling that the F-35 will surprise a lot of people if (when?) it's really needed for dirty work. That chunky bird has some surprises up her sleeve I believe.

But wait, there's more. US Air Force F-22 and F-117 have been spotted at the same time. There's a big exercise in California of all the different test and evaluation squadrons across the different branches.

I just read an article on it. It's called "Black Flag". Similar to Red Flag, it's all the test and evaluation squadrons doing an exercise. A ton of top secret stuff going on testing new hardware/software.
