Indeed, must be that the metal was weakened from before.. The carpet as such is not hard but pretty thin, so it's not soft...

I will go on the coming Saturday to a town called Mons, where finally finally finally, the place which usually kicks-off the Belgian plastic model exhibition season.

I will check if I find a new pair from there and if I'm really lucky, DSPIAE might have their salespoint with hopefully some good expo prices!
But I would be happy if I find precisely the same ones.
