I thin Tamiya paints by opening a new bottle and adding Tamiya thinner until it reaches the place where the bottle necks down. For an older bottle I try to thin it by how fast it drips from a stirring stick, looking for the same rate of drops as a new thinned bottle would have. I like the Tamiya clear gloss, but often I use the Alclad clears because they dry very rapidly.

I still use Model Master Acrylic Clears for now. I have quite a bit of it but once I run out, that's it, no more. I'll have to switch to some else entirely.
